Strathclyde Gay and Lesbian Switchboard |
Homophobic Crime Reporting 0141 847 0647 In late 2000, a project was set up involving Strathclyde Police to make it easier for homophobic crimes against gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered people to be reported. Callers to the line can choose whether they wish the police to act on their information, or whether it can be used simply to add to awareness of how many hate crimes are taking place, who and where is affected. Callers need not identify themselves, and information can be given anonymously if required. All of the volunteers on the line are gay, lesbian, or bisexual, and the lines are open between 7 and 10pm each night. Please note that the Homophobic Crime Reporting Line operates as a service separate from Switchboard. From time to time, however, during busy periods, calls to this line may be answered by Switchboard volunteers. Please be assured that the confidentiality offered by Switchboard is strictly maintained for all Switchboard calls. |
